Srinagar: DySP lynching five arrested, bloodiest June in Kashmir toll reaches to 42 killed

SRINAGAR: This June has been the bloodiest month in Kashmir with around 42 people killed under various circumstances including 27 terrorists, 6 civilians and 9 policemen losing their lives in the line of duty.

Speaking to TOI, a senior police officer stated this Friday’s lynching of the Police officer has raised fear among the subordinates of security forces, a result of civilians and terrorist’s targeting Police officer’s in the valley.

He said, “Although she (Mehbooba) was very hard in her statement against the attack on police, we have got the signal not to act severely against the wrong-doers, even local militants because of political reasons”.

He further added, “How long will we lose our men to people, who like mad dogs, chase us because we happen to belong to the police department?”

DGP S P Vaid said “We have identified 12 persons in connection with the case and five of them have been arrested,” according to PTI.

He further added “It is the resolve of Jammu and Kashmir Police that we are not going to spare these rascals. Let the investigation complete, then only we can say what has happened,” said DGP Vaid, as reported in TOI.
