The CBI Special Court on Friday adjourned the hearing on bail petition of suspended IAS officer Y Srilakshmi in Obulapuram Mining Corporation’s illegal mining case to March 19.
When her petition came up for hearing on Friday, the CBI counsel filed a counter petition raising objection to sanctioning of bail to Srilakshmi. After hearing the arguments of CBI counsel, Justice Nagamaruthi Sarma posted the petition for next hearing on March 19.
Earlier, Srilakshmi’s counsel stated that her client was eligible to get bail under clause 2 of Section 167 of CRPC as the probing agency has so far not filed chargesheet against her more than 60 days after her arrest. (INN)
