Srihari seeks Centre’s nod for Vet College classes

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari today urged the Union Animal Husbandry Secretary Tarun Sridhar to give permissions immediately to start admissions in Telangana Veterinary College with 50 students strength at Mamunur in Warangal district this year.

Along with a team comprising MPs Sitharam Naik, B Prakash and Telangana Government advisor in Delhi Ramachandru, Srihari called on the Union official and explained about the steps being taken for the college. The state Government has expedited the works of the veterinary college and released Rs 109 crore against Rs 208 crore sanctioned for the purpose, he informed.

Since all facilities are being provided with construction of permanent buildings procuring lab equipment and infrastructure in the college the Centre has to accord necessary permissions without further delay, Srihari urged. In addition to 15 members of staff the government has issued a notification to fill up 85 posts for the veterinary college, he said. (NSS)
