Ponguleti seeks Rs 20 lakh aid to electric shock victims

CLP deputy leader Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy has alleged that several people were dying with electric shock due to negligence of electricity staff in the State.

Speaking to the media at Assembly Media Hall here on Tuesday, Ponguleti said two persons died in Raghunathapalem in Khammam district due to electricity staff’s negligence. He demanded that the State government extend Rs 20 lakh ex gratia to the bereaved families. He also demanded that the State government order an inquiry into the issue with Vigilance officials while initiating action against the officials concerned.

Finding fault with Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for comparing Congress leaders with demons, Ponguleti demanded that the Chief Minister withdraw his remarks immediately. He also alleged that the State government has failed in controlling the fake seed and substandard fertilizers. Rs 4000 per crop investment scheme was not a remedy to all problems of the farmers, he opined. (NSS)
