Kolkata, May 28: The Eastern Railway will run a pair of special trains between Howrah in West Bengal and Ajmer in Rajasthan to clear the extra rush of passengers during next month’s Urs, held in honour of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti.
“03001 Up Howrah-Ajmer ‘Urs’ special will leave Howrah at 11.00 p.m. on 2 June, 2011 (Thursday) and run via Dankuni, Mughalsarai and Agra Fort. It will reach Ajmer at 3.45 a.m. on June 4, 2011,” said a press statement issued by the Eastern Railway.
“On the return journey, 03002 Dn. Ajmer-Howrah ‘Urs’ special will leave Ajmer at 7.40 p.m. on June 4, 2011 (Saturday) and reach Howrah at 2 a.m. on June 6, 2011,” it added.
The special train will have 22 coaches, including one AC 2-tier, 13 sleeper class, six general second class coaches and two second class-cum-luggage vans.
