Expressing concerns over the plight of unemployed youths in the AP, YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the state was reeling under sever unemployment crisis and that the jobs can’t be created unless the state was accorded Special Category Status.
Jagan appealed the youth to bring pressure on the TD government over denial of the SCS to the state.
Commencing his Yuvabheri, mass contact programme in Nellore on Thursday, the YSRC chief slammed Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu accusing him of cheating the people of the state by making false promises. Naidu had promised over 1 lakh jobs during the elections if elected. He said that the TD chief should know that jobs cannot be created if there was no SCS to the state. Let alone creating jobs, the people were losing the ones they had already due to financial crisis in the state, he said.
Jagan said that TDP had promised to give Rs. 2,000 stipend to educated unemployed youth if they did not get job, but even this was not realized. He also expressed hope that the state could still get the SCS if it kept it spirited fight on with the Centre on the issue. (INN)
