The Andhra Pradesh Government has signed a Joint Venture agreement for incorporation of a company ‘Godavari Gas’. The company is a joint venture between the AP government, GAIL and HPCL with the government and GAIL holding 74 per cent equity and HCL with 26 per cent equity.
The company will lay gas pipeline in the city and East and West Godavari districts benefiting domestic consumers, commercial users, industries and transport sectors. This will give a huge fillip to the industries in the two districts. The Chief Minister directed the company to expand the city gas distribution to other districts of Andhra Pradesh. (NSS)
