Hyderabad: In view of ensuing Ramadan, Dy. CM of Telangana State, Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali held a review meeting and instructed the officials for making special arrangements during the month. He told them that there should not be any difficulty for the Muslims.
The high level meeting was attended by Home Minister, Mr. N. Narasimha Reddy, Animal Husbandry Minister, Mr. P. Srinivas Yadav, Advisor to Govt. on Minority Affairs, Mr. A.K. Khan, Chairman of Wakf Board, Mr. Mohammed Saleem, Secretary to Govt., Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel and other officials.
Later, talking to newsmen, Dy. CM told that elaborate arrangements would be made during Ramadan. Govt. sanctioned Rs. 5 crore for whitewashing the masajid. In addition to it, Rs. 8.48 crore has been sanctioned for Makkah Masjid. Police pickets would be posted to ensure security of the public. Govt. employees have been permitted to leave their offices an hour before.
He further informed that necessary instructions have been issued to concerned officials for maintaining uninterrupted drinking water supply and electricity. If need be, mobile transformers and special water tankers would be made available. He said that a control room would be setup near Charminar. Shops and hotels have been permitted to transact business throughout the night. Officials have also been issued instructions for keeping the roads clean.
