Speaker reviews arrangements for Assembly budget session

Hyderabad: Speaker of Telangana State Legislative Assembly Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday held a review meeting with the top officials of police and other departments regarding the arrangements to be made for the budget session of Assembly commencing on February 22.

Legislative Council Chairman Swamy Goud, Council Vice-Chairman Nethi Vidyasagar, Legislative Affairs Minister V. Prashant Reddy, Intelligence IG Naveen Chand, Hyderabad City Police Commission Anjani Kumar and other officials of State Legislature, Cyberabad and Rachakonda Commissionerates, Traffic and Fire Department were also present in the meeting.

Speaking to media persons later, the Speaker informed that the Assembly session would be of three-days from February 22. While the Vote on Account budget would be presented on February 22, discussions on budget would be held on 23rd and 25th February. There will be no session on February 24 (Sunday).

Srinivas Reddy sought the cooperation of all the legislators, including those belonging to opposition parties, in the smooth conduct of the session. He also sought the cooperation of police and other departments for the successful conduct of session. He directed the police department to make fool-proof security arrangements for the session.

Council Chairman Swamy Goud also asked the police department to take necessary steps for the peaceful conduct of budget session. Legislative Affairs Minister Prashant Reddy said that the State Government would provide necessary assistance and support for the budget session.
