New Delhi, November 19: Samajwadi Party today attacked the Centre on its proposed development package for the Bundelkhand region in Uttar Pradesh, saying the government was merely issuing statements in this regard.
“We have been hearing about Bundelkhand package and other such things since the government came to office. They only give statements. Such fraud will not work now,” party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav told reporters.
He was responding to a query on the development package to the region. The government is likely to discuss a Rs 7000-crore package for Bundelkhand region in the Cabinet meeting.
Bundelkhand comprises districts of both Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh and had hit the headlines after AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi visited the area last year.
