New Delhi, June 23: Expelled Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh today said some of his old party colleagues want him back, a claim which was instantly dismissed by the party.
“Lot of my old colleagues are making statements about my rejoining SP. However I don’t want to join a confused party, which at one time described Jaya Bachchan as a showpiece and later did not hesitate in renominating her for Rajya Sabha,” Singh told PTI.
The Samajwadi Party, however, dismissed his claim, saying that there was no truth in it. “What can I say, when there is no substance in it,” party spokesperson and general secretary Mohan Singh said, when his reaction was sought.
Amar said that the very fact that SP first ridiculed Jaya Bachchan and then named her as its candidate for Rajya Sabha, was a moral victory and a vindication for him.
