Sohrabuddin Case : witness injured in attack ; fears threat to life

Udaipur, September 15: Mohammad Azam–the lone surviving witness in the infamous Sohrabuddin fake encounter case- who was shot at by assailants here last evening, had got himself discharged from the hospital late last night citing threat to life.

Azam was injured when two youth riding a mobike fired at him near Udaisagar here last evening. He was admitted to MB Hospital with bullet injuries in his shoulder.

Later in the night, he made a written request to the hospital authorities for discharge, stating that he feared a threat to life in the hospital.

He was, accordingly, discharged later, hospital sources said.

T he police meanwhile is suspicious over the incident of the attack.

Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Narjari said the statement and version from Azam and his driver about the incident, were conflicting.

”However, we are probing the matter seriously,” the SP said.

Azam is one of the two witnesses in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter case.

The other witness Tulsi Prajapati was killed in an encounter with police later.
