Singareni Collieries creates new record

Hyderabad: The State-owned Singareni Collieries has created a new record in coal transport by railway racks and when compared to last year in the 10 months ending January, there was better coal production and coal transport. In the 2017-18 financial year by January, 483 lakh tons of coal production was recorded and this year by the end of January, 519 lakh tons of coal production was achieved, thus recording an increase of 7% growth rate. Similarly, coal transport was 528 lakhs in the last financial year by the end of January and this year by the end of January 554 lakh tons of coal production was achieved, an increase of 5% over last year. With this, by the end of January this year the target of 552 lakh tons of coal transport has been 100% achieved.

In January Singareni created a new historical record of transporting coal by 1243 railway racks. This is an all-time record. Note that 456 lakh tons of coal was transported by railway route this month. Another new record was recorded by transporting 40 railway racks of coal every day in January 2019 whereas usually it is 30 to 32 racks per day. On 7th of this month 46 racks of coal transport was done by Singareni. This month 55.43 lakh tons of coal transport was done and when compared to last year January with a growth rate of 2.62%.

Singareni thermal plant achieves 100% p.l.f

The 2nd unit of Singareni Thermal Power Plant situated at Jaipur in Mancherial Dist achieved 100% P.L.F in January (2019). The first unit of the plant achieved 96.47% P.L.F. With this STPP achieved an average of 98.24% P.L.F in the month of January. In the month of January the 2nd unit produced 446.46 million units of power and supplied 409.27 million tons of power to Gajwel power grid. The 1st unit produced 430.66 million tons of power and supplied 393 million tons to power grid. Overall both the units put together in the month of January 877.12 million tons of power was produced and 803.26 million tons was used for the demands of Telangana State. From the beginning this plant produced 20,897 million units of power was produced and by the end of January 19,590 million tons were used for the State’s requirements.
C & MD N. Sridhar called for continuing the same zeal for the next two months left in this financial year and meet set targets in Coal production, transport and OB removal. Similarly he called for the PLF is to be achieved in power production to all the employees and officials of Thermal Power Station.
