Sikkimese minor girl sold in Haryana brought back by CID

Gangtok, August 26: A 15-year-old girl from Lower Bardang in East Sikkim, who had been sold by a tout at Jharjar in Haryana, has been rescued and brought back to her home by the CID unit of Sikkim Police.

The girl was sent for medical examination to SNTM hospital and later handed over to her parents by the CID.

A CID team had gone to Jarjar last week to rescue the girl following a compliant lodged by her parents at Singtam police station against one Anita Biswakarma from Temi on July 23.
