Lucknow: Lucknow Police had arrested Qazi Mohammed Tayyab Ziya for allegedly helding hostage and molesting 51 girls, including 49 minors and two adult girls.
Going into the details, Qazi Mohammed Ziya, is the director of Jamia Khadijatul Leelanwat, and accused of physically abusing the girls, assaulting and molesting them.
The police came to know when the girls threw chits out of windows to let the passersby know their situation.
Immediately, police reacted and raided the madarsa where the girls were kept in captive, and rescued them.
SSP Lucknow, Deepak Kumar said that “We took strict action the moment we received a complaint. We took our team and went there to raid the madarsa. We found 51 students, who were held hostage in the madarsa. The culprit has been arrested and we have begun investigation. He used to molest the girls and also beat them up.”
However, the family of the accused say that police has been falsely framing him. They said it’s a matter of property dispute and police have framed Ziya in a false case of harassment and sexual abuse.
The rescued girls were sent to Nazi Niketan. Out of all the rescued girls, nine belong to Bihar, two are from Nepal and the rest from different district of Uttar Pradesh.
The girls statements were recorded by the lady-inspector. The statement says that Ziya used to force them to dance on vulgar songs and also used to beat them.
The police have contacted the families of the girls to verify the cases of human trafficking also. The Police also suspect the involvement of more teachers or staff of madarsa in the entire episode.
