Shobha slams Kiran Kumar and Chandra Babu

YSR Congress Party leader and Allagadda legislator Shobha Nagi Reddy here on Sunday lashed out at both Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and Leader of the Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu for their irresponsibility and apathy towards the people’s problems.

Speaking to the media, Shobha Nagi Reddy charged the Chief Minister with leaving the people’s burning problems to the wind and launching Indiramma Bata. She also demanded that Kiran Kumar Reddy explain the reasons for his launching the program instead of concentrating on solving the people’s problems.

She also demanded that the Chief Minister, who had declared to introduce better programs than late YSR government, prove his sincerity by fulfilling his word rather than making empty promises. She also said that her party (YSRCP) would stage dharnas and protests all over the State on July 17 over the farmers’ problems and power crisis.

Alleging that the people in the State were not in a position to believe the tall claims of TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Allagadda MLA criticized the former for allocating only 50 Assembly seats to the Backward Classes as against his promise of giving 100 seats in the 2009 elections. There is no guarantee that the TDP president would keep his word on allocation of tickets to the BCs in the 2014 elections too.

The YSRC leader said that her party has not taken yet any decision on extending support to either Congress candidate Pranab Mukherjee or the NDA candidate P.A. Sangma in the July 19 Presidential election. She said that they would discuss the issue threadbare and take an appropriate decision very soon. Both the candidates in the Presidential race sought support of her party, she added.

Alleging that both the Indian National Congress and Telugu Desam party have lost charisma and people’s goodwill, Shobha asked as to why the Telangana Rashtra Samithi was scared of her party supremo Vijayamma’s hunger strike in Sircilla for the sake of handloom weavers. She asserted that her party was strong in the Telangana region.

Meanwhile, YSRCP leader Goutham Reddy started a padayatra of party activists from Vijayawada to Hyderabad demanding immediate release of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy from Chanchalguda Jail. MLC Jupudi Prabhakara Rao, Jakkampudi Vijayalakshmi and others also participated in the padayatra. (NSS)
