SHO allegedly slaps woman SP leader

Ghaziabad, August 13: A Station House Officer in the city allegedly slapped a woman Samajwadi Party leader when she was protesting police “inaction” in a dacoity case.

The incident occurred yesterday when Manju Singh of SP entered Sahibabad police station along with her supporters and wanted to meet SHO Yogesh Pathak.

Pathak refused to meet the agitated workers and instead asked them to go out of the police station. As the SP workers refused to leave the place, Pathak allegedly slapped the woman leader.

SP workers then met the District Magistrate and demanded suspension of the SHO and threatened to intensify their agitation if their demand was not met. The DM assured them of appropriate action against the police official.
