Pune, July 22: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit will be bestowed upon the prestigious The Lokmanya Tilak Award for 2010 for her contribution to social progress, the Lokmanya Tilak Trust announced here today.
The award is bestowed every year on a person who has strived for the well being and progress of the society and the nation, the trust president Deepak Tilak told a press conference here.
The award ceremony will take place on August 1, coinciding with Lokmanya Tilak’s 89th death anniversary, he said.
The award was constituted in 1983.
