Shantha Kumar urges action against Yeddyurappa

New Delhi, Jul 24: Troubles for Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa seem to be mounting with a senior BJP leader former Himachal Pradesh chief minister Shantha Kumar demanding ‘action’ in the light of his reported indictment for illegal mining by state Lokayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde.

In a letter dashed off to BJP Parliamentary Party Chairman L K Advani and BJP President Nitin Gadkari yesterday, Mr Kumar is understood to have demanded action to improve the image of the party, sources said.

The BJP’s inability to act when the allegations were flying has adversely affected the party’s image and it is high time that the party acted now, Mr Kumar wrote, the sources said.
