Nagpur: Mohammad Shahzad smashed a blistering half-century as Afghanistan registered a 14-run win over Scotland in the World Twenty qualifier contest in Nagpur on Tuesday.
Electing to bat, Afghanistan relied on Shahzad (61) and Asghar Stanikzai (55 not out) to make a formidable 170 for five in their stipulated 20 overs at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium.
In reply, Scotland could only make 156 for five despite a strong 84-run opening stand between George Munsey and Kyle Coetzer.
The top sides from Group A and B will move in to the Super 10 stage, which will feature the eight established teams of world cricket. (ANI)
