Sedition case against Baba Ramdev

Patna, June 09: Seems that Baba Ramdev’s call for making a ‘nationalist army’ is costing him much more then he thought as now after receiving criticism from the centre, a sedition case has been filed by a Congress leader against him in Bihar court for threatening to form an armed militia.

The chief judicial magistrate in Patna civil court accepted the complaint filed by a Vinay Kumar Singh.

Vinay Singh’s lawyer Shruti Singh said that the complaint seeks their prosecution for challenging sovereignty of the country. The court will hear the case next week.

Ramdev, who is on a fast against corruption, Wednesday said that he will build a force of 11,000 men and women who will be imparted ‘shaastra’ (vedic education) and ‘shastra’ (arms training).

He said that while he does not favour an armed rebellion, he would not allow the security forces to act like they did at Delhi’s Ramlila Ground when they used force to break up a mass rally attended by thousands of his supporters post-midnight June 4.
