Hyderabad, March 25: The TRS Floor leader, Mr Harish Rao, cited the Fazal Ali Commission Report which he said reflected the true problems of Telangana and its people. “Chapter 8 of the Srikrishna Committee report proved beyond doubt that it was tailor-made to suit Seemandhra leaders and investors. The report lost credibility. It’s shocking that legal luminaries can stoop to this level to please a section of leaders,” Mr T. Harish Rao, said.
Congress MPs from the T also slammed the committee and demanded that the Centre scrap the report and announce Telangana. The MPs, Mr Ponnam Prabhakar, Mr Gutta Sukhender Reddy, Mr Manda Jagannadham, Mr Balaram Naik and Mr Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy at a media conference in Delhi said that it is most unfortunate that the Srikrishna Committee offered suggestions like media and political management in the event of carving out a separate state. They demanded that the Centre must recover the `20 crore that was spent, from the members of panel.
Mr Harish Rao said that they had started having doubts on the report when the Congress MP, Mr Lagadapati Rajagopal, and other Seemandhra leaders had gone public stating that they would stand by the report. “It is now clear who has dictated the SKC report. The report suits Seemandhra leaders and makes illusionary threats and suggests ways and means to suppress the T movement,” he added.
“We expected the SKC to act like Lord Srikrishna but he is like Shakuni,” he remarked. The Congress MLA, Mr G. Venkataramana, BJP MLA, Mr G. Kishan Reddy and the Telangana TD leader, Mr S. Venugopala Chari, condemned the Srikrishna Committee Report’s Chapter 8. “The report should be dumped in the dustbin. He has crossed the brief,” Mr Chari said.
