Aruna Bahuguna, Director, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Shivrampally today unfurled tri-colour with all honours on a specially designed 100 feet flag mast during a ceremonial parade convened for the purpose.
The mast weighs 109 ton and stands at 620.89 mtrs height from the mean sea level. It was erected on Vallabh Sikhar, which is the highest point of the Academy. The flag measures 20” by 30”. The tri-colour will not be lowered in the evening and the flag will be illuminated by flood lights throughout. This is the second tallest National Flag mast erected in this part of the country. The flag is visible from the surrounding areas, i.e., the P.V. Narasimha Rao flyover and the Bangalore Highway.
On the occasion, 109 IPS Probationers of 68 RR and 15 foreign police trainee officers fromBhutan, Nepal and Malidives and families of the faculty were present and saluted the tri-colour. The Director interacted with the Probationers and emphasized the importance of the nation building and patriotic zeal. (NSS)
