New Delhi : In a major relief for Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, the Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a plea demanding Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the Dholpur Palace issue.
Dholpur Palace had made headlines last year when the Congress Party alleged that Raje’s son Dushyant Singh and former IPL chief Lalit Modi were illegally staking claim on the historic building through a private company.
They had said that Dholpur Palace was converted into a private property in Dushyant Singh’s name under Raje’s watch.
The Congress Party also accused Dushyant Singh of claiming compensation from the government for the Dholpur Palace, which is a government property. The matter of compensation had come up when some part of Dholpur House’s lawn had to be used for expansion of a highway.
The Congress had released several documents last year to show that Dholpur was government property which was usurped by Raje’s family. (ANI)
