Hyderabad, September 11: The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee demanded that the Central Government clear its stand on Telangana by September 12.
Talking to reporters after the JAC meeting held at Telangana Film Chambers here on Saturday, JAC chairman Prof Kodandaram asked the in-charge of Congress affairs in the State Ghulam Nabi Azad to spell out his stand on the Telangana. He reminded that Azad would be meeting Seemandhra leader on Sept 12 and immediately after the meeting, he must clarify his party’s stand on Telangana.
Kodandaram sought support from all sections of the society for the success of general strike beginning from September 13. He said the general strike was aimed at bringing the state administration to a standstill. He also asked the people to participate in large numbers in the Jana Garjana programme being held at Karimnagar on September 12.
The JAC chairman requested all the government officials to organise relay hunger strike in front of their offices and participate in the general strike without any fear of consequences from the government. Meanwhile, the Telangana Film Chambers Association announced a band on September 14 and 15th to express solidarity with the general strike.
Kodandaram also requested the people to maintain peace and communal harmony during the Ganesh immersion procession in the city. (INN)
