Riyadh: Saudi Arabia announced on Thursday joint actions with the US to tackle fund raising for and support of terrorism, Saudi Press Agency reported.
The two countries will sanction four individuals and two organisations.
The individuals sanctioned are: James Alexander McLintock, Abdul Aziz Nuristani, Naveed Qamar, and Muhammad Ijaz Safarash.
The targeted organisations are: Al-Rahmah Welfare Organisation and Jamia Asariya Madrassa.
Saudi Arabia highlighted in a statement that any property or interest in property of these designated individuals and entities subject to US jurisdiction is frozen, according to Xinhua.
Saudi Arabia designated these individuals and entities under its Law of Terrorism Crimes and Financing. As a result of this action, any property or interest in property of these designated individuals and entities under Saudi jurisdiction is also frozen, and Saudi citizens are generally prohibited from doing business with them.
This isn’t the first action taken by Saudi Arabia to fight terrorism that hit the country through various deadly blasts last year, but it is the first step implemented jointly with the US.
