New Delhi, June 26: Sathya Sai Baba’s nephew and trustee of Sathya Sai trust Ratnakar Raju rubbished all allegations against the trust saying all allegations are baseless.
“All the allegations against the trust are baseless. I have given the statement to the police, I cannot share the details, but I have answered all the questions,” Ratnakar said.
The nephew of the late spiritual guru Sathya Sai Baba was questioned on Saturday by police in connection to the legal notice served to him and another trustee over the Rs 35 lakh recovered last week from a vehicle near the Karnataka border.
The cash was recovered a day after Sai Baba’s personal chamber ‘Yajur Mandir’ was opened and it was disclosed that it contained 98 kg of gold, 307 kg of silver, apart from Rs 11.56 crore.
Police said that the money was from the Sai trust collections. Locals of the temple town took out a march on Saturday demanding the trust be cleaned up and allegations of corruption be looked into.
