New Delhi, November 20: Sachin Tendulkar took his already celebrated cricketing career to a rarefied zone when he completed his 30,000 runs in international cricket.
He has been on a roll in the last couple of months – especially in the one day international series against the world champions, Australia. Only a few days ago he crafted another immortal innings against the Aussies, who are traditionally respected in modern day cricket for their skill levels and success.
Records show that he has normally had a lot of success against them. In the ongoing Nagpur test against the Lankans he completed 20 years in international cricket, capping off a journey that started in Pakistan against the likes of Imran Khan, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis as a precocious and talented 16 year old.
His career is unprecedented – in terms of durability and success. He has lasted 2 decades in professional sport, which given the demands on body and mind of a sportsman, is a rare achievement.
What is more remarkable is that he still looks good for more and is hungry as ever to help his country achieve milestones that he thinks he and his country deserve. The lovers of the game can be sure that more is yet to come from the maestro.
