RSS: Rakesh Sinha booked under NBW for ‘communal insensitive’ post on Bengal

New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Professor Rakesh Sinha has been booked under several non-bailable sections by Kolkatta police for allegedly inciting communal violence on social media.

Rakesh Sinha, who is anti Mamata Government in view of recent Bashirat riots has been accused of posting a communally insensitive tweet on 12 July using his Twitter account. He has been booked under 153 A1 (A)(B), 505(1)(B), 295A, 120B.

According to Sinha’s lawyer, someone named Manoj Kumar Singh filed the complaint against Mr Sinha, calling his post “provocative” that can lead to communal tension and riots.

The FIR has been lodged against me in Kolkata without any evidence and registered without any annexure. Mamata Banerjee wants to silence her opponents and this mentality needs to be crushed. Freedom of Expression is under threat and she is using the police and administration as the B-team of TMC,” Sinha told in an interview.

This is not the first time when some BJP leader has been booked under the non-baliable section for inflicting communal violence. Previously, a local BJP IT cell leader was booked by Bengal Police for spreading fake news.

Additionally, BJP spokesperson, Nupur Sharma too was booked under the same sections for sharing images from 2002 Gujarat genocide depicting it as a sign of destruction from the recent communal tension in Bengal.

The list also has BJP’s Asansol IT head ,who was arrested after he posted fake provocative video to incite communal violence in West Bengal which was already facing the brunt after protest on a facebook post against Muslims Holy Kaba turned into violent riots.
