Rs 81 cr to be spent under RKVY

Chandigarh, January 10: An amount of Rs 81.40 crore is being spent during the current financial year for the implementation of Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) in Haryana, the state agriculture minister today said.

The programme launched by Union Agriculture and Cooperation Ministry aims at achieving four per cent annual growth in agriculture sector during the 11th Plan period, Agriculture and Cooperation Minister, Paramvir Singh said.

The Minister said this new central assistance scheme has plans to provide incentives to states for increasing investment agriculture and allied sectors and provide autonomy to states in planning and executing agricultural schemes.

It also intends to ensure preparation of agriculture plans based on agro climatic conditions, availability of technology and natural resources
