Rs 4k aid to farmers a poll gimmick: TTDP

Telangana TDP president L Ramana today charged the TRS government with giving Rs 4,000 assistance per acre to farmers under the Rythu Bandhu scheme was an election gimmick.

The TTDP chief was speaking at a function after hosting a tricolour and party flag on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day at the NTR Trust Bhavan. He said the people had voted to the TRS with the hope that their lives would be improved after separate Telangana State was formed.

Earlier, Ramana handed over financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to a party worker Prem, who has undertaken a tour of the State on bicycle. He said another Rs 50,000 would be put as a fix deposit in a bank on his name.
