Dissident minister D L Ravindra Reddy has said that there was need for investigation into the role of ministers in the issuance of 26 controversial GOs during the rule of Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
It may be mentioned here that acting on a Public Interest Litigation by a Nellore lawyer, the Supreme Court issued notices to six ministers and eight IAS officers in connection with the issuance of 26 GOs being investigated by the CBI as having favored Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
DL, however, said that he has seen the notice received by Kanna Lakshminarayana. He said that there was no strength in it. He said there was no questionable role of Kanna in the issuance of a GO. He said that the GO was released as per the prevailing Industrial Policy in 2011. He also clarified that he has not signed on it. He wondered how notice was served to him though he had not even seen the GO.
DL said that all the remaining ministers have to think seriously about the circumstances that led to the issue of those GOs. When asked how a GO could be issued without the knowledge of the concerned minister, D L said there was need to think deeply about the matter to decide who was at fault. (NSS)
