Mumbai, December 17: Do you remember Tujhe Meri Kasam released in 2003? The film failed to do anything at the box-office. But brought Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia so close that they are now likely to tie knots very soon.
If rumours are to be believed then both of them have been dating each other since their first movie Tujhe meri Kasam and planning on a quiet wedding next year.
The couple which hardly made any appearances in public earlier have only just begun to attend many B-towns events together. They were also spotted many a times at several eating joints in the city.
A close source to the couple informs, “In the beginning both Ritesh and Genelia who had developed a liking for each other maintained a distance and were tight-lipped about their relationship as their careers had only just taken off. However they were planning on finally admitting to their relationship but that’s when their families came in their way.”
Sources close to their families reveals, “Ritesh’s family obviously wanted him to settle down with a girl from their background and felt that Genelia was just a mere crush. However they have realised that Ritesh and Genelia are very serious about each other and now its their high-flying careers that’s playing party pooper.”
In 2010, Genelia will be seen in the highly anticipated Shahid Kapoor starrer Chance Pe Dance and Ritesh will be seen in Sajid Khan’s comedy Housefull apart from other projects. About their wedding plans, the source adds, “Marriage is on the cards and they were planning a quiet wedding but have put that on hold for now. They want to wait it out for a year or something after their respective films release and will think about it later on.”
When we spoke to Genelia about Ritesh, she categorically denied a romance, and said that they were very “good friends”, which is why the media is wanting to turn it into a love story. Ritesh on the other hand said the same thing, and rubbished these rumours, adding that he is currently busy shooting for Housefull and is not contemplating marriage anytime soon.
