Telangana TDP working president A Revanth Reddy today alleged that the TRS government has announced some schemes with an aim to lure voters in view of GHMC elections.
Speaking to the media at NTR trust here, Revant Reddy said his party would lodge a complaint with the Elections Commission about some decisions announced by the State government.
Referring to news items published in a daily owned by the ruling party leader, the TDP leader said the party would lodge a complaint requesting Election Commission to treat these news reports as paid news. Citing news items pertaining to expansion of railway line of MMTS from Hyderabad to Yadadri, four lane bridge near Durgam Chervu, news about calling tenders for Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation project, he said his party would lodge a complaint to the EC about violation of Election Code.
Revanth Reddy asked State Election Commission to initiate probe into these violations. He also asked the EC to declare unqualified if any contesting candidate found spending more than Rs five lakh as stipulated by it. Besides Election Commission, he said, his party would raise these issues with the Press Council of India. (NSS)
