Telangana TDP today urged the people, including farmers associations and other organizations to extend their support to 48-hour hunger strike being launched by party working president A Revanth Reddy in support of the displaced persons of Malannasagar project.
Speaking to mediapersons today, Gajwel constituency in-charge Onteru Pratap Reddy alleged that in the name of Malannasagar, the TRS government was acquiring lands of farmers in the nearby villages. It was unfortunate that the government was propagating that it has acquired 90 per cent of land for the project whereas not even five per cent land was acquired.
Telangana TDP working president Revanth Reddy is launching 48-hour hunger strike in support of villagers of surrounding Malannasagar, who are agitating for the last four months seeking justice. It was unfortunate that neither Chief Minister KCR nor Irrigation Minister Harish Rao was bothering about the villagers, who have been agitating for the last four months, he said, adding that Revanth Reddy would launch his 48-hour hunger strike on June 26 at 10 am at Ettigadda Kistapur. One day before it, he will perform puja at Pedamma temple and later take out a diksha yatra via Shamirpet, Pragnapur and Errabelli before reaching the venue of his hunger strike.
TDP State ST cell president Botla Srinivas urged party workers, farmers associations and other organizations to extend their support to hunger strike of Revanth jReddy. He also strongly refuted the allegations of Harish Rao, who was leveling charges against TDP national president and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. (NSS)
