KCR favours Special Plan for BCs growth

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today directed the officials to prepare a plan of action to improve the standards of backward classes, who are living in poor conditions

At a review meeting with BC Welfare Minister Jogu Ramanna and officials at camp office, the chief minister expressed concern that there are many people of BC community are facing acute livelihood and financial problems. Keeping this in view a special plan be prepared to provide them timely succor and employment opportunities he said. KCR said that lakes revival will boost the fishermen community to get better income and plans for other BCs should also be made to help them for revenue on time.

He also agreed to upgrade 16 of 23 Gurukul schools to residential colleges, set up residential schools for BCs on par with that of SCs and STs and residential schools for girls and boys. The Chief Minister also asked to prepare guidelines and a plan to introduce Rs 100 cr oversees scholarship scheme to help the poor BC students to pursue higher education abroad on par with SC, ST and Minorities from the state.
