Reservation of Muslims should be free from legal hurdles – Amer Ali Khan

Hyderabad: Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily made a representation to BCs Commission for the enhancement of 4% reservations for Muslims to 12%. He also submitted a separate memorandum from Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily in support of 12% reservation for Muslims.

Mr. Amer Ali Khan made it clear to BCs Commission that Muslims should get reservations on the basis of educational and economic backwardness but the commission should make an attempt that these reservations are continued without any legal hurdles. He also said that the process of inclusion of reservations in the 9th schedule of constitution of India is a difficult task. BCs Commission should submit its recommendations in such a way that Muslims should be able to get reservations at State level only without depending on the Centeral Govt. He informed that inclusion of the issue of Muslims reservation in the IX schedule of constitution of India on the lines of Tamil Nadu Govt. is a very complicated process.

He mentioned that he has visited almost all the major towns and districts of Telangana State to create awareness for 12% reservations and he knows the sentiments of the Muslims of the State. He has not visited the commission to communicate the sentiments of the Muslims with the commission but his objective is to make a representation on behalf of the Muslims. He also said that Siasat Urdu Daily is fulfilling its responsibility for the educational development of Muslims. He mentioned that he does not want to talk about political issues for which there are political leaders but he firmly believes that the development of Muslims is possible in the fields of education and employment through reservations.

Chairman of BCs Commission, Mr. B.S. Ramulu assured Mr. Amer Ali Khan that he would make an attempt to present the comprehensive report free from legal complications. On this occasion Mr. Amer Ali Khan presented the copies of 11000 representations received through emails to Siasat Urdu Daily from various districts. The Muslims from Warangal, Kareem Nagar, Nizamabad, Kama Reddy, Sanga Reddy, Medak and other districts sent thousands of representations to Siasat through email. He recalled that Siasat Urdu Daily had launched a massive campaign throughout the State in order to create awareness for Muslim reservations. As a consequence of this campaign Govt. and its officials were very much impressed. It is a welcome gesture that by constituting BCs Commission, Govt. has entrusted the issue of Muslims reservation to it. He hoped that BCs Commission would submit its comprehensive report within the stipulated time.
