Reliance outlets in Andhra Pradesh under attack from supporters of late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy

Hyderabad, January 08: The supporters and followers of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy turned viollent on late Thursday in Hyderabad and other cities of the state after a news story was broadcast on a local TV channel.

The Telugu channel alleged the role of the Ambani brothers in the sudden death of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in a chopper crash last year.

The YSR supporters attacked the retail outlets and business establishments of the Reliance Group in Hyderabad and some parts of Andhra Pradesh.

The provocation was a report in a foreign magazine which was picked up by a local television channel. The report claimed that the Ambanis were behind the copter crash that killed Reddy along with four others on September 2, 2009 in Pavuralagutta, Nallamala hills, Kurnool district. According to reports reaching here, many Reliance outlets in various parts of the State downed shutters.
