Hyderabad, December 13: Relay fasts, rallies, obstructing the vehicular movement in protest against Centre governments’ decision to set the process for separate Telangana continued affectingnormal life in several places in Rayalaseema and Andhra region affected the normal life for third day today.
In view of the protests, the Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) had suspended services on district and city routes in several districts in both regions as the protestors were damaging the buses.
The students and the political leaders had started their relay fasts in several places including Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Tirupathi, Kadapa, Nellore, Guntur and Anathapur towns demanding the Central Government not to divide the state.
Meanwhile, Senior Congress Leader form Telangana Region Palvai Govardhana Reddy today urged the state government not to allow Congress MP from Vijayawada L.Rajagopal to undertake fast in Hyderabad city as proposed by him.
He alleged that Mr Rajagopal was trying to create unrest in the city by allegdly deploying anti-social elements from Vijayawada. He demanded the state government to arrest Mr Rajagopal as soon as he arrives in Hyderabad. He said in a democracy every individual has the right to express dissent by organising fasts. Mr Rajagopal could undertake his fast in Vijayawada city but not in Hyderabad city.
