Hyderabad, April 09: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu said rallies and processions across Andhra Pradesh without any political platform will begin today.
While extending support to social activist Anna Hazare’s indefinite fast seeking constitution of an independent and powerful Lok Pal, in a press conference, Mr Naidu had given a call to all its party leaders, educationists, NGOs and all sections of people to extend support for eradication of corruption which is increasing in the country and across the party angles.
As part of its protest and support to Anna’s fast, a padayatra will be organised in the state capital from the Gandhi statue situated in Secunderabad without holding any party banners where every individual will participate for a “better country” including party members who will stage without their political platform.
It was necessary to rebuild the entire structure, revise the laws and strengthen their enforcement so that no room is left for delay or misuse, Mr Naidu said.
The Central government should accept the demand of the social activist, who also participated in various social programmes during the TDP tenure, and drafting of the Lok Pal bill should involve Prime Minister, Chief Ministers, political parties, eminent personalities and civil society organisation, he demanded.
