JAIPUR: Out of 15 Muslim candidates fielded by Congress, seven registers win in Rajasthan assembly polls.
A total of 16 Muslim candidates fielded by both the Congress and the BJP. Congress fielded 15 whereas BJP fielded 1 candidate, Yoonus Khan fielded from Tonk who was defeated by Sachin Pilot.

In comparison to the last assembly election, not a single Muslim candidate from the Congress had won the election amid a BJP wave.

The BJP in 2013 had given tickets to four Muslim candidates including Yoonus Khan. However, this time the lone Muslim candidate from the saffron party lost to Congress’s Sachin Pilot in Tonk constituency.
The grand old party emerged as the single-largest party in Rajasthan, winning 99 seats in 200 assembly seat state.
