Mumbai, October 01: This is a vehement attack on the ideologies of Raj Thackeray, the founding president of Mahanagar Shiv Sena.
In a poignant editorial of Saamna, a news organ of Shiv Sena, Raj Thackeray has been accused of following the divide and rule policy as adopted by Mohammad Ali Jinnah while dividing India and Pakistan.
Addressing Raj Thackeray as the Mohammad Ali Jinnah of Maharashtra, the editorial justified the reason by stating how the MNS Chief is dividing Marathi votes to aid Congress win Maharashtra assembly elections.
Without making a direct mention of Raj Thackeray, the editorial went on to add that like Jinnah, who got the British support and divided India and Pakistan in the name of religion, similarly Raj Thackeray is the newly found Jinnah for Congress Party, who is practising that same divide and rule policy.
Asserting the gaping indifference of MNS towards Marathis, the editorial pointed out how Mumbai Congress is run by leaders like Murli Deora, Gurudas Kamat and others who are all non-Marathis. The fact that Congress can’t get a Marathi leader of the party is suggestive of what notion the party has about Marathis.
