Rains bring down humidity in Delhi on Saturday, more likely on Sunday

New Delhi:Rains brought relief from the humidity in Delhi on Saturday with the maximum temperature settling at 32.8 degrees Celsius, one notch below the season’s average, the Met office said. Some rain is also likely on Sunday.

A weather official said that the day started humid but the subsequent rains brought down the temperature, adding that the Palam observatory recorded 18.4 mm rain, Lodhi Road 3 mm, Ridge 2.4 mm while Ayanagar observatory received 17 mm rain in Delhi between 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.

“Generally cloudy sky with thunderstorm and rain is likely to occur on Sunday,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 32 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Delhi residents woke up to a cloudy Saturday morning with the minimum temperature at 29 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season’s average, while the humidity oscillated between 90 and 65 per cent.

Friday’s maximum temperature settled at 36.7 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season’s average while the minimum was recorded at 28.6 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season’s average.
