New Delhi: After Congress President Rahul Gandhi, in an unprecedented move embraced Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha, the latter held no strings back before unleashing his wrath on Gandhi.
“What is the hurry to come to power,” the Prime Minister asked. “In the morning, the voting was not over, the debate was also not over. One member comes running to me saying- Utho Utho Utho..What is his hurry to come to power? Let me tell this member it is the people who elected us. That is how we have come here.”
Speaking in the Lower House of the Parliament, the Prime Minister said, “I was surprised at Rahul Gandhi’s excitement to come and hug me. What is the hurry? You should trust the people in a democracy. Some people are in a rush to get to the treasury benches.”
Earlier in the day, Gandhi after ending his speech moved across the floor to get to the treasury benches to the Prime Minister. They hugged each other, and as Gandhi was returning to his seat, Prime Minister Modi was seen calling him back and they exchanged pleasantries. The gestures seemed to ease the tempers.
Prime Minister Modi further poked fun at Gandhi over his winking act in Lok Sabha and said, “Talking about eyes, we have seen quite a lot of eye movement today.”(ANI)
