Tirupati, January 03: In a shocking incident, seven people, including three members of a family, were killed and three others were injured when the Toyota Qualis collided to a lorry on Mallavaram 150-By-Pass Road under M R Palle limits, about five km from here today.
M R Palle Sub-Inspector Chandrashekar told that the Qualis, carrying ten people, including driver, was proceeding to Tirumala from Chittoor when it hit thelorry which was on its way to Chittoor.
While six people were killed on the spot, one succumbed to injuries on way to hospital. The tourists hailing from Lucknow were proceeding to Tirumala after visiting various places in Chennai.
The deceased were identified as Sivananda Pandey (45), his wife Meera Devi (40) and his ten-year-old son Arvind, Riddi (seven), Sunil Tiwari (50), driver Rajesh (30) and Kushboo (45). The injured were admitted to Government Ruia Hospital, Tirupati.
