Port Blair: An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter Scale hit the Nicobar Islands on Friday morning, according to Indian Meteorological Department.
The quake at 3:27am hit a depth of almost 10 km.

No casualties, injuries or damage to property has been reported yet.
The Andaman and Nicobar archipelago is prone to earthquakes. On April 1, as many as 20 earthquakes struck the region.
The quakes were of medium intensity and ranged between 4.5 to 5.5 on the Richter Scale.
