Doha: The Qatar Press Centre (QPC) expressed deep concern over the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, state-run Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported on Sunday.
QPC “has been following with great concern” the developments regarding the suspicious disappearance of Khashoggi since the first day, Xinhua news agency reported, quoting the QPC as as saying in a statement.
The centre also called on human rights organisations to take urgent and strong moves on Khashoggi’s disappearance, urging the investigation bodies to “prosecute the perpetrators of the evil with transparency”.
The statement also confirmed QPC’s rejection against all forms of target and restriction of journalists.
Khashoggi has been missing since October 2 and is presumed killed after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. Saudi Arabia has denied the allegations as “baseless”.
