New Delhi, December 04: A private members bill for the prevention of abuse of children in any form was introduced in the Rajya Sabha today.
Jayanthi Natarajan (Congress) introduced the Bill which seeks deterrent punishment, including capital punishment for trafficking and abuse of children.
She introduced two other private members bills for the prevention of sexual harassment of women employees and girl students and another for the protection and welfare of the infirm, destitute, neglected old women and widows.
Mahender Mohan (SP) introduced three Bills for amendment in the marriage laws, establishment of a consumer products safety authority and for common entrance examination for each professional course.
Kalraj Mishra (BJP) introduced a bill to provide for control of sale and distribution of acids in order to prevent the acid attacks on women and girls.
