Tirupati, August 18: Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi on Wednesday struck back at his party’s detractors by saying that some people see him as an obstacle in fulfilling their ambitions and said that he has no immediate thirst for power.
Mr Chiranjeevi told media persons that some leaders were targeting the PRP consistently. He said that the PRP has become their target since they assume that the party would be a hurdle to their aspirations of becoming the Chief Minister of the state.
The PRP chief had arrived at Tirupati International Airport on his way to Railway Koduru mandal in Kadapa district. The actor-turned-politician reiterated that his main aim was to strengthen the party at grassroots level in the state and raise public issues in the Assembly.
Mr Chiranjeevi’s statement comes in the wake of YSR district (formerly Kadapa) MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy loyalists increasingly sharpening their tone against the PRP.
“The leveling of charges by owners of Bayyaram mines against the PRP is also a part of conspiracy hatched by pro-Jagan group,” he alleged.
Reacting on the allegations of corruption in the Aarjita Seva tickets, Mr Chiranjeevi urged the government to make public the Dinesh Reddy Committee Report which probed the allegations of irregularities in the sale of tickets in Tirumala.
The PRP chief demanded the government make public the entire Report since the image of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams was being tarnished by the allegations.
Reacting on the allegations by actor-couple Rajasekhara and Jeevitha on his blood bank, Mr Chiranjeevi said that those allegations are baseless.
