PRP MLA walks out from Jagan’s camp

Hyderabad, May 07: In a complete ‘U’ turn, after Andhra Pradesh Assembly Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar issued a show-cause notice on April 29 to K Rami Reddy, Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) legislator from Banganapalle, the latter today announced he would continue in his parent party by deserting the Y S R Congress Party President Jagan Mohan Reddy’s camp.

The Deputy Speaker had sent the notice to Mr Reddy on a petition submitted to him by party whip Vanga Geetha and senior leader K Subbarayudu who sought his disqualification for indulging in ‘anti-party activities.’ The MLA had earlier pledged his support to YSR Congress party and had been actively taking part in the programmes of Mr Jagan.

Talking to reporters after meeting President K Chiranjeevi here, he said, ”I was perturbed by the alleged activities of YSR Congress party which had hurled eggs on the convoy of Mr Chiranjeevi when he came for campaigning for the Congress party candidates for the by-elections.” The PRP had already announced its merger with the Congress.

The MLA also found fault with the reported statement of Mr Jagan that he would contemplate to have a truck with the BJP if it provided ten per cent quota for Muslims across the country.

” I never quit PRP though I moved along with Jagan for some time,” he said and accused Mr Jagan of adopting a dictatorial attitude as there was no democracy in the YSR Congress party.

Earlier, Congress MLA from Badwel in Kadapa district Kamalamma, who had supported Mr Jagan, walked out of his camp last month and campaigned for the Congress candidates in the by-elections.
